Webwww.denso.com 国際エネルギー機関（IEA）が発行するETP（Energy Technology Perspective）の2024年版では、再エネの将来見通しに関して、以下のように述べられています。 2DS（2℃シナリオ）シナリオでは2060年までに、B2DS（2℃未満シナリオ）では2050年までに世界の発電は脱炭素化される（正味のCO2排出量がゼロとなる）。 再エネがそのバックボーンであり、電力ミックスにおける再エネのシェアは、2014年の23％から2030年にはその倍程度、2060年には70％以上（2DSでは72％、B2DSでは74％）となる。 陸上風力と太陽光発電が今後の再エネ導入促進をけん引し、2DS目標を達成する軌道に乗っている。
