The CH4B is no longer produced, but is sought after because it was basically an updated, aluminum version of the factory cast iron intake. It will also fit under most hoods without a drop-base air cleaner (unlike the Edelbrock Performer RPM).

I had to run a drop base on my 440 when I swapped from the regular performer intake. X2 on the holley carbs vs the eddy carbs. I like comp cams over and edelbrock cam and lunati has some good grinds too.

WebSep 20, 2014 · The edelbrock is a replica of the Ford, for sure; no argument there. Most all of the early Edelbrock abreviated title intakes (be it chevy or ford or chrysler) were replicas of the factory performance counter parts. For example the F427, C396, TM4, CH4B, etc etc But it is definitely not the same intake casting. Can you say it is? Sure, you can.

The one I'm looking at has four holes in the carb pad--I think others I've seen have the divided plenum, and I've seen some with a notch in the top of the plenum to "equalize the flow and distribution."
