My 2010 cooked 4 blower motor resistors over time before I finally got fed up enough to figure out a resolution without replacing the motor since it was still functioning. Poor air flow will not dissipate the heat or too much current will generate more heat than the air can dissipate. See if you still get continuity at the fuse. The relay could have fried and allowing ground to feed thru the relay back into the fuse box.
