Web5 mrt. 2013 · Matons dont sound that great - if you can play 10 or 20 guitars side by side it stands out. Cole Clarks have the same problem - not that great for the money. $1200 Eastman sounds better to me than a $3500 C/C. Musos Cr in Newcastle had/have a $6500 Maton - nice looking wood but not $6500 worth of sound.

It has a very clear sparkle to the highs, but very well rounded at the same time, the tone is almost like it has been processed. No rough/sharp edges to the high end notes. Just clean rounded, slightly delayed attack.

Web15 mei 2012 · It cost me $200 but I sold it almost immediately for $180. Unfortunately these were just a cheap "student model" made of plywood. From what I have read they were a steel string version of the classical model F10. The odd thing about them was that they had no heel, so the neck was most likely bolted on.

My situation is that I have always played dreadnoughts and recently purchased a EBG808 Maton (Australian luthier with great reputation). So I am starting to record and am finding that this guitar seriously lacks low-end and the the highs are just too strong.
