WebMaybe it’s because elementary schools aren’t giving spelling tests as much anymore? I’m close to your age and had weekly spelling tests every year from 1st to 4th or 5th grade. I only know a handful of elementary teachers but I don’t think they give spelling tests that often, if ever. Autocorrect is probably more to blame, though.
