Immediately the engine was flung into reverse but thankfully nothing happened. WebThe 600-tonne ship was caught in terrible Atlantic weather, when it collided with Finnis Rock and was eventually thrown onto rocks at the eastern edge of Inis Oirr by the strong winds. The eleven crew onboard survived, owing their lives to the brave islanders who saved them from certain death by rescuing everyone onboard and salvaging the cargo.
